Get ready for some outdoor fun! My name is Morgen Tracey, and I am an AmeriCorps serving with the Appalachian Forest National Heritage Area at Seneca Rocks Discovery Center. This year, I will be coordinating Discover Nature Day to help bring awareness to our natural world. AFNHA celebrates the central Appalachian forest - its history, culture, natural resources, and forest heritage and we want you to join us in this mission to celebrate the great outdoors! Discover Nature Day is an annual family-friendly event hosted by the USDA Forest Service at Seneca Rocks Discovery Center. People of all ages are welcome to get out and explore our natural world. This event will be held on Saturday, June 7th,  from 10 am-3 pm and will be taking place rain or shine.

Discover Nature Day happens every year, and every year is different. You can expect to experience interactive activities, demonstrations, live animals, and so much more! We have all sorts of collaborating organizations who will be putting together activity stations with opportunities for giveaways and take-home crafts. There will be inside and outside stations, so don’t forget to visit them all. Bring friends and family to enjoy a Saturday full of new experiences and excitement! The purpose of Discover Nature Day is to find out what our public lands mean to you, so get ready to learn and explore. Please help us spread the word by sharing this post; we can’t wait to see you there!
