By the People, For the People: America’s 250th in the appalachian forest
America’s 250th in the Appalachian Forest is an exhibit commemorating the semi-quincentennial of the founding of America through sharing the stories of the people, communities, and places that have shaped our region. The four primary sections of the exhibit are: New Country, Founders of the Forest, Cornerstones of Community, and A More Perfect Union. This exhibit will be on through the end of our 2026 season!
Discover the Appalachian Forest
The Discovery Center’s permanent exhibit allows visitors to investigate how the people of this region interacted with the forest and how it, in turn, influenced them. The exhibit explores natural landscapes, history, forestry, and culture in the AFNHA.
